As a WCED public school, Sun Valley Primary School adheres to the WCED's centralised online admissions process.
Preparation (Before the Application Window Opens):
- Gather Required Documents (Certified Copies): Have these ready to scan and upload:
- Learner’s Birth Certificate or ID: Or valid passport/refugee/asylum seeker permit for foreign learners.
- Parent/Caregiver’s ID: Or valid passport/refugee/asylum seeker permit.
- Learner’s Immunisation Card / Road to Health Chart: (Essential for primary school).
- Latest Official School / Academic Report: If the learner has attended school before.
- Proof of Residence: A municipal rates account, a valid lease agreement, or an affidavit from a police station confirming residence.
Online Registration (During the Application Window):
- Go to the official WCED online admissions portal: https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za
- Register as a Parent/Guardian: If you haven’t already, create a profile.
- Complete the Online Application Form: Fill in all required details for the learner and parent/guardian.
- Upload Certified Supporting Documents: Scan your prepared documents and upload them to the system. You will not typically need to submit hard copies at this stage; they are submitted directly to the school only after an offer of placement is accepted.
- Select Schools: Choose at least three schools, indicating your order of preference. Make sure Sun Valley Primary is on your list as your preferred choice.
- SUBMIT the Application: Ensure you click “Submit” before the closing date. Incomplete applications may be auto-completed or marked as late.
