DIGI-LEARNING

LEADING THE WAY – IT – THE ALPHA OF APPLE

Embedding technology as a teaching and learning tool

At SVPS, we’re at the forefront of educational innovation, embracing digital education to provide our learners with an outstanding and progressive learning experience. We understand that in our rapidly changing, technology-driven world, equipping students with strong digital literacy is more crucial than ever.

We’re proud to be an Apple Distinguished School, recognising our commitment to innovation, leadership, and educational excellence with Apple technology. A cornerstone of this commitment is our 1-to-1 iPad program, where every learner from Grade 4 to 7 has their own school iPad. This dedicated device seamlessly integrates into their daily learning, enhancing teaching and opening up new avenues for exploration and creativity.

Our Grades 4 to 6 utilise school-adapted digital textbooks, which are continuously updated and edited to ensure they remain current, relevant, and engaging. This dynamic approach keeps our curriculum fresh and responsive to new developments.

Cultivating Digital Skills and Creativity

We believe in fostering well-rounded digital citizens. Our annual Powerful Presentation competition is a highlight of the school year, with every learner from Grade 4 to 7 participating. Students design impressive Keynote presentations, with themes changing yearly, providing a fantastic platform to showcase their research, design, and presentation skills.

To further enhance our English curriculum, we’ve incorporated EdShed for Grades 4 to 6, providing an engaging and effective way to improve spelling and phonics. Beyond language arts, we introduce our learners to the exciting world of Resolute Coding and Robotics from Grade 1 to 7, nurturing their problem-solving and computational thinking abilities from a young age. We’re also thrilled to be incorporating Digital Art for Grades 4 to 7 through our partnership with iNGENiO, allowing students to explore their artistic talents using digital tools.

While technology plays a vital role in our curriculum, it always serves to enhance and enrich learning, supporting good classroom practices. Our goal is to develop confident, dependable, and responsible users of technology who are flexible in their use of operating systems, capable digital collaborators, and able to maintain a healthy balance between the digital and real world.
