Cross-grade families exist at SVPS. Each family is made up of 1 learner from Grade 1-7.

They meet in family groups once a fortnight and discuss issues presented on the AGENDA. This AGENDA is designed by the Department Heads in collaboration with the school counsellor. Training is given to the Grade 7s prior to the HOOFIES meeting. Each class educator has 4 HOOFIE families under her/his supervision.
