Grade 1
As we prepare for the 2025 school year, we would like to inform you of some important changes regarding stationery requirements. Starting in 2025, all learners will need to purchase their own stationery as SVPS will no longer provide or distribute these supplies.
Where to get your stationery:
– Stationery can be ordered through Masons (Recommended).
– Other stores of your choice (Document below indicating required items)
Orders through Masons:
– You can place all orders through Masons using this link: https://mason-cos.co.za/back-to-school.
– Simply click on ‘Sun Valley Primary’ and Masons will have each grade’s requirements pre-loaded on their Website. You can easily untick items you do not require from the pre-loaded list.
Important Dates for orders placed via Masons:
– Online ordering will open on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 and close on Saturday, November 26, 2024.
– Orders will be available for pickup on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 09:00 to 14:30 in the SVPS school hall.
Please note the following changes:
– We are transitioning from the blue library bag to the A4 Clear Book Bag starting in 2025 for the Grade 1s. You will need to purchase the Meeco A4 Book Bag with Zip as the blue library bag will no longer be available.
– As part of your stationery requirements, we have set aside 1 ream of white paper to be provided to the school for all your child’s copying needs. When you order through Masons, this paper will be reserved and will not be included in your collection box. If you choose to purchase your own stationery, please send the ream of white paper to the school on the first day of the new school year (January 15, 2025).
– SVPS will no longer be purchasing labels for your child’s stationery and school uniform. You are welcome to contact Labels 4 Schools directly to place your order.
– Your child should already have certain items from this year, (Marked with an *). If any of these items are damaged or misplaced, please replace them.
– The boutique is open from Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 08:30 and again from 13:00 to 14:30 for any purchases you may need.
– We’ve added plastic covers to your stationery list for 2025 as all books need to be covered. This will save you time and effort in acquiring this. We understand that some parents prefer to avoid plastic, and we respect your choice in this matter. If you’d like to source alternative materials or cover the books yourself, that’s perfectly fine. Your individual preferences are important to us!
A small fee of R160.00 for Grade 1 will be added to your financial statement to cover the cost of essential textbooks and the D6 communicator etc. This will ensure that all necessary resources are available for your child’s learning. The full payment for textbooks, the D6 communicator and other items is due by Monday, December 02, 2024. When making payment, please use your unique pastel number followed by “stat 2025” as the reference (e.g. PAS123 stat 2025).

– Your child will need the English and Afrikaans Study Guide Handbook. These can be purchased from the finance department at R200 each or from other stores if you prefer. Learners who may already have these books; however, if any are damaged or misplaced, please ensure they are replaced. These books will be used at high school. These Handbooks are subject to availability and while stocks last.
– It is very important that your child has the correct calculator for 2025. The only brand and model required is the Casio FX-82ZA Plus Calculator. This calculator will be used at high school, especially in Grades 8 and 9.
– Grade 7 learners can purchase the Grade 7 Hoodie from 2025. The Grade 7 Hoodie is priced at R490 each and is available at the school boutique. The boutique is open from Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 08:30 and again from 13:00 to 14:30 for any purchases you may need.
